Hello mr. shore. i am a christian and of late have been accumulating many different questions touching base on many different subjects beginning with the discovery that there is no proof in the bible that a fiery pit awaits all wrongdoers based on the fact that as christianity was born from judaism the first recorded theory on what the afterlife is like a pitch black pit, sheol, where people of all morality goes and, i think, to wait for the messiah to rescue them. this was a startling revelation and had me question the validity of many things in the bible. maybe magick is acceptable, maybe homosexuality isn't an abomination, maybe there is such a thing as reincarnation? my mind is awash in strange thoughts and new questions every day and i pray for the answers, the true truth but none come. is there any way you could help me get these answers for i believe the truth on how to live and what lies next is needed more than ever for all our sakes?

You know, perhaps my later-in-life favorite verse has been Jer.33:3. How have I called! Time after time, from my early youth onward, He has done just that in my life: Healing, miracle baby, preservation of life through life-threatening situationss. Just when I think this it for me, the mastercraftsman puts on another loving touch on this old piece of clay. Well, God bless you as you are carried through life by his grace.

Whoa. Thank you for letting us, however minimally, share this with you.

People: We can pray for Elizabeth and her husband, no?

Hey, John -

Thanks for running that email in your article... It really ministered to my hubby and me.... We're going through some really tough medical issues with my husband right now (he was very recently diagnosed with head and neck cancer.)
These are verses that we are going to take as a way of comfort from the Lord as we go through treatments and so forth.

Again, thanks for sharing.

Very painful stuff. Can I ask you: Are your children's illnesses temporary in nature, or more permanent? In other words, are they dealing with ... afflictions, or conditions?

I enjoyed this article, and I am truly amazed that I am beginning to understand God's perfect will for my life. We all have a ministry, as part of God's plan for our life, to share the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ's atoning death on Calvary's cross to reconcile us to God and bring us eternal salvation. I had a very bad anger problem all of my adult life, but in the last two years God has melted my heart, and showed me something in Matthew 5: 9, which has become "my ministry" among workers, family and friends "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." Being born again, I know my adoption rights with God the Father in heaven. And I am experiencing the
"peace that surpasses all understanding" through Jesus Christ. I find myself more in control of my emotions these days, and it certainly helps when I minister, in a peaceful manner to those I come in contact with. Yes I am finding that God's will for my life, is to help spread the Peace that Jesus came into the world to bring....along with that, the joy and love.

Yeah, it was just so awesome of "MT" to put together those passages like that. Really something. Just ... deeply moving. Anyway, thanks for feeling that, too. Wondrous stuff.

LOVE the title of this entry...it's true, there should be some sort of heavenly music playing behind these verses. They're like a muscle relaxant for the soul...
