My Office, Pre-Dismantling

This is my office, as it is right now, before I start ripping it apart for the move. I’ve enjoyed working here; in this room, in the last two years, I’ve written two books, one play, 220 blog posts, and sent about 18 trillion emails to people, many of whom I am sure wish I’d get a real job. Though I’ve not enjoyed living in this duplex-thingy we live in, I will sometimes miss this room, I think.

I’ve bought a fair amount of my clothes from the thrift stores, too.

Actually, the penguin was a gift from a friend for having gotten my book “Penguins…” published.

I share your love for thrift stores, but I tend to go there to buy clothing, instead. Thank you for the good, large photo of the office, which among other things, tells me that you're right handed. I can tell by where your space bar is worn shiny, on the right side, just beneath the N key.

You also have a toy taxi in your bookshelf, and a stuffed penguin, a character from the movie Happy Feet. Interesting.

That’s 2000 Millenium Jack! And yes, you’re right: What a story! I’ll tell you sometime!

Is that a little party snowman with a green hat up on the top shelf? Does he get to make the move too? I bet there’s a story in that.

Yeah, it DOES look pretty neat. I almost never is. I cleaned it a little for my dad's visit, is all. It's usually unwalkableinable.

I bought just about all those books in the thrift stores my wife oversees. THRIFT STORES ARE THE GREATEST PLACES TO BUY BOOKS, if you're patient and assiduous in your searching, and all. Which I am. Since I'm just a tad obsessive about it. Not like SOME, but … still.

Wow. So neat and organized. You should come by and tidy up my den sometime.
