Man, I can't believe how lame it is I never answered these excellent comments. And now, of course, I'm sure it's too late.

Crape Myrtle. How can I live myself, knowing I missed an opportunity to even SAY "Crape Myrtle"???

That's a nice looking townhouse, John. Hey, is that a crape myrtle out front? And, don't pretend you don't know what a crape myrtle is. :)

Welcome to the world of home ownership- sort of. You don't have to mow the lawn with a town home, do you?

Hey, you know what just occurred to me though, John?

This means you have to move again :-(

Ugh.

Finding a different moving company, I assume??

(If you are like me, half your stuff is still packed anyway, so that's a plus.)

John,
A walk-out basement is one with an exit to the exterior of the house as opposed to having to climb up and down stairs should you reside in said basement.
In this area (Metro D.C.), those are usually rented out.
I live in a walkout basement at my sister's townhome. But then, you probably guessed as much.
I was going to ask Ric if I could move into his but he lives too far the other side of D.C. from my children.
 So there you go.

John,

Very nice. More room to store books and stuff. Possessions expand to fill the available space just as work expands to fill the available time. So, you will have more time to bring cool thrift shop stuff home.

Sam: What's a walkout basement? The school's are excellent. There are lots of places near ours for sale. Yes, there are coyotes in the hills all around our new place.

Arylyn (sp?): The top floor is this huge, unbroken space that runs the length of the interior. We'll use it for our bedroom. The two bedrooms on the second floor (both of which have bathrooms) we'll use as our work spaces. My office'll be in one; Cat's photography/art studio will be in the other, what would normally be the master bedroom.

On the ground floor is the living room and kitchen. And ... there you have it! Thanks for asking.

Morse: Do you want the deluxe, 20-shot package? You know you do. In one of them, I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt. I WON'T send you that one, though, for fear you'll violently defile it. It's for your own good.

Ric: Nice!

Winey: Thanks. (Sorry I didn't answer your Iraq War question. Can't ... go there.)

Yvette: Why the bookshelf? And ... does it matter which one of my bookshelves??
