Disneyland: The Grand Finale of our Staycation

My wife Cat’s been off all week. So far we’ve been to “Marvin Hamlish Directs the San Diego Symphony’s Summer Pops Music Thing At a Beautiful Outdoor Setting On the Edge of the Stunningly Beautiful San Diego Bay for the Fourth of July (are we old yet?); the Richard Avedon show at the San Diego Museum of Art (which includes a full frontal nude shot of Rudolph Nureyev that makes you wonder how the man ever leaped at all); San Diego’s jazz club Anthology to see the Preservation Hall Jazz Band (where I got to meet and chat with the Hall’s founder, when, thinking I was someone else, she introduced herself to me); The San Diego Zoo; San Diego’s Wild Animal Park; and, last night, to San Diego’s Old Globe Theater to see their splendid production of “Cyrano de Bergerac,” which is about a guy with a giant nose who’s quite the wit.

Now, today, in about two hours, we leave for a two-day visit to Disneyland. Then it’s back to regular life.

Looks like you all are having a good time. Just take it easy at Disneyland…you might be even MORE tired. So much so that you'll need another vacation.

How lucky can you get!

Enjoy it while you're young and hardy…one day your knees will creek and say 'enough is enough'!

Blessings!
