First of all, let me apologize for being so out of commission yesterday and today. No fair calling a contest, and then checking out for two days. Wrong!

Ah, salvation humor. Good times.
So I’ve been pretty AMAZED at the number and quality of responses I’ve gotten in to “Guess the Fate of the Earth and the Human Race and Win a Book!‘ I haven’t seen responses like this since “Announcing The First Annual John Shore 10-Word Short Story Contest.”
Anyway, I was out of the house all day yesterday, and today have been a bit o’ a slug.
Plus, how can I pick one or two Best Entries from that major collection of fun/brainy stuff?
The pressure’s too much, man.
I know you guys feel bad about how much stress it’s going to be for me to pick a winning entry. And, because I’m such a giver, I want to relieve you of that burden of feeling bad for me. And that is why I am prepared to accept from you all gifts of whatever sort you care to send me, including cash, checks, or money orders.
Great! That way we all win!
You know, I thought that bit was going to be funnier. Sorry.

I’m glad you slowed down for a bit. Your activity average is supermanly.
I usually back off a little on the weekends. ("Supermanly." What a great adjective.)
Infinitely preferable to "supermannish", right?
I’ll try to be patient a bit longer. But totally understand the occasional need to be a slug thing.
